Description:
The DailyMed Web Service (http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/help.cfm ) provides access to current SPL (Structured Product Language) information. DailyMed (http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov ) provides high quality information about marketed drugs. This information includes FDA approved labels (package inserts). DailyMed provides health information providers and the public with a standard, comprehensive, up-to-date resource of medication content and labeling as found in medication package inserts.

The DailyMed Wed Service is a RESTful web service that provides two types of calls; one to get a list of the SPLs that match a specific NDC (National Drug Code) and the other to get the imprint information for the specified NDC.

1. To get a list of the SPLs in XML format, your request should resemble the following:

        http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/services/v1/ndc/{NDC}/spls.xml

    Where {NDC} is the national drug code.

    Example:
        http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/services/v1/ndc/0409-3613-01/spls.xml

2. To get imprint information in XML format, your request should resemble the following:

        http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/services/v1/ndc/{NDC}/imprintdata.xml

    Where {NDC} is the national drug code.

    Example:
        http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/services/v1/ndc/0003-5168-11/imprintdata.xml
